Before anyone flames me into a tiny charcoal briquette, hear me out.

As a member of two or three different Warriors groups on deviantART, I get a lot of fan pictures for canon- and original cat characters alike. I'm completely fine with this. I love cats.

BUT.

When I get 17 out of 22 pictures (or... 75 out of 123, if I haven't cleaned my inbox out for a while) from these groups that are of Ashfur dying... Ashfur being heartbroken... Ashfur going crazy... Ashfur glaring at some angry song lyrics... Ashfur trapping the idiot trio in the fire and/or laughing maniacally at/yelling at/sobbing in front of Squirrelflight... Ashfur lying dead in the water... IT GETS TO BE A BIT INFURIATING.

Don't get me wrong, I feel bad for Ashfur. Personally, I think Squirrelflight should have stayed with him rather than go prancing back to Brambleclaw. And I'll still favorite the occasional GOOD Ashfur drawing, though by now it's more out of appreciation for those artists who are pretty skilled at cat anatomy than because I like the theme. I'm just sick of seeing my inbox cluttered with at least three or four Ashfur-related pictures BY THE DAY.

Please. Please, for the love of StarClan, DRAW ANOTHER CHARACTER. Draw Stoneteller! Or Mousefur! Blackstar! SOME OTHER CAT BESIDES POOR ASHUFR, SO THE POOR TOM CAN REST IN PEACE AND STOP GETTING THROWN INTO FAN PICTURES DEPICTING OVERUSED THEMES INVOLVING HIM.

If you MUST do something related to Ashfur, try an original scene. Remember how he and his sister helped save ThunderClan from the dog pack in the original series? Remember that he used to be a sweet little apprentice? And an even sweeter kit? Remember when he was sane and NOT head-over-tail for Squirrelflight? Why not do a what-if picture of him hooking up with on OC?

Or you could write something about him - SOMETHING THAT DOES NOT INVOLVE SQUIRRELFLIGHT OR THE IDIOT TRIO IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM. Write a what-if where he goes on an adventure of his own during the first three books of the second series, or an Ashfur/OC fic where he doesn't die. SOMETHING THAT DOES NOT EVEN REMOTELY SUGGEST HE GOES NUTS IN THE ACTUAL SERIES.

This could also go for other fan-favorite characters: Brambleclaw, Squirrelflight (with Brambleclaw), Firestar, Hawkfrost, Bluestar, Oakheart (with Bluestar), Tigerstar, Scourge, Brightheart, Cloudtail (with Brightheart). PICK SOME NEW CHARACTERS. THE OTHERS NEED THE SCREEN TIME DESPERATELY.
